MJ Basilio
Mary Joy (MJ) Basilio‘s passion is to deliver culturally sensitive and neuroaffirming ADHD and Autism assessments, interventions, and psychotherapy. She holds recognition as an Approved Supervisor by the Psychology Board of Australia and is skilled as a NeurOptimal Neurofeedback trainer as well as a Safe and Sound Protocol Provider.
MJ has a diverse range of experience and has worked in Government Departments, Non-Government Organisations, Schools, and Private Practice. She commenced her career as a therapist working with autistic children and then worked in the field of Early Intervention, Out of Home Care, Child Protection, and Risk Assessments before she Registered as a Psychologist in 2015.
MJ has worked in different settings as a Psychologist assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of clients and areas of concerns. MJ focuses on collaboration and building trusting relationships so that people feel comfortable working through complex thoughts and emotions to achieve psychological wellbeing. With a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of Giftedness, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Autism, Trauma, and other co-occuring mental health conditions, MJ aims to provide accurate diagnoses, personalised recommendations, and a roadmap for effective intervention and support.
